David Lee Johnson, 80, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, February 17, 2023. A visitation will be held from 4 – 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Radiant Church, 3233 Blairs Ferry Road NE, Cedar Rapids, with a visitation one hour prior.

Sally M. Ford, 75, of Marion, passed away on Feb. 8, 2023, at Silver Oaks Care Center in Marion. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery Section: Garden of Cross. Cedar Memorial is in charge of arrangements.Sally is survived by her daughter, Annette Daniels of Swisher; brother, Donald (Gwen) Eells of Vinton; nephew, Andrew Eells of Marion; niece, Rebecca Eells of Pennsylvania; and former husband, Mike Ford of Swisher.

Beverly Teneyck

Beverly Teneyck, 63, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, with her family by her side. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone. Beverly was born on October 2, 1959, in Vinton, the daughter of William and Beulah (Lovell) Teneyck.

Leland Fred Parizek

Leland Fred Parizek, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023.  Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.  Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2023, at  Brosh Chapel.  Burial will be in Czech National Cemetery.

Audrey A. Lois Wunschel

Lois Ann Wunschel, 92, of Carroll, Iowa, passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2023.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll. Pastor Ryan Roehrig will officiate, and the casket bearers will be Dave Wunschel, Steve Wunschel, Blair Elliott, Austin Crouse, Brenden Elliott and Jacob Wunschel Burial will be at Carroll City Cemetery following the funeral services.

Rita Blake

Rita Kay Blake was born on December 30, 1949, in Vinton, Iowa, to her parents DuWayne and Lillian (Meyer) Schirm. She grew up on her family's farm in Garrison, Iowa, where she attended school, graduating in 1968 from Garrison High School. She had the esteemed privilege to serve as her class Valedictorian and during her high school years, she excelled at many things; basketball, percussion, baton twirling, softball, dance, 4H, piano, cheerleading and bowling.

Maurice K. Van Note, 87, of Palo, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at Keystone Care Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, with Pastor Bill Reirden officiating. Gladys L. (Scheetz) Werner

Gladys L. (Scheetz) Werner, 96, of Van Horne, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab in Vinton.A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Salem United Methodist Church in Van Horne. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. also at the church, with the Rev. Kolleen Queener officiating.

Wayne Orville Riley

Wayne Orville Riley passed away at the Colonial Manor in Amana on February 9, 2023. He was married for 69 years to Loralyn Wilson from South Dakota.Wayne was born May 24, 1929, to his parents, Wallace and Pauline Riley. His family also welcomed his younger sister, Glenice. Wayne graduated from Norway High School in 1947. He served in the Air Force; he was trained to be a NORAD radar operator.
