VU leaders review 2014, discuss 2015 events during annual meeting

Feedlot Facility Workshops coming in February and March

The Iowa Beef Center at Iowa State University will offer several workshops focusing on choices in feedlot facilities in February and March 2015. Russ Euken, ISU Extension and Outreach beef program specialist, said the workshops, set in various locations throughout the state, will offer an overview of facility types, advantages, and disadvantages, and review research on these types.

Beef Feedlot Roundtable Sessions Offered at Four Iowa Locations

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and the University of Nebraska are teaming up to offer a Feedlot Roundtable session at four Iowa locations on Thursday, Feb. 12 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Iowa State Extension beef program specialist Denise Schwab said the feedlot roundtable sessions are offered annually in Nebraska for feedlot operators and interested agribusiness people.

Brett Root succeeds mom as IMCA President

BDG to review strategic plan and set goals for 2015 in upcoming meeting

The Benton Development Group Board of Directors will meet Wednesday, January 28th, 2015, starting at 7:00pm at the Van Horne Community Center. The agenda is filled with review and planning for the next BDG meeting. At this time last year, the BDG Board of Directors developed a strategic plan to follow during the 2014 year. This plan included priorities to rebrand and build partnerships, among others.
