Handgun Safety Training Class offering In Vinton
A course for Iowans to obtain their Permit to Carry Weapons has been scheduled in the area. The four hour course covers handgun safety, gun handling, carry options, situational awareness, interaction with law enforcement, use of force, and state and federal laws. The course teaches students how to be safe and efficient with a firearm for personal protection.
BDG leaders to discuss rebranding, upcoming visits during Aug. 27 meeting
The Benton Development Group Board of Directors will meet Wednesday, August 27th, at the Urbana City Hall beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Topics discussed throughout the meeting will include the rebranding efforts of the group. An update will be given on the new website and creating a new logo. The board will also discuss a number of visits coming to the county including a speaker from the USDA and Secretary of Agriculture, Bill Northey.

Stein Recognized for 25 Years with NAIFA
Farm Bureau Insurance Agent Randy Stein, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF, has received a certificate from The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) for 25 years of membership with the organization.

Lisa Marter has been a member at Kettlebell Advantage for over 3 years and became one of the instructors there after she became HKC Kettlebell Certified in 2012. This past June she stepped down from Instructing as her and her husband Eric awaited their first baby due in August.
Daxon Anderson Marter was born on Sunday July 27th in Iowa City.
