New Food Business Center to Support Food Systems in Five-state Region
The Heartland Regional Food Business Center will combine resources from Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas and OklahomaFood systems partners from five states are working together on a newly funded grant project from the United States Department of Agriculture that will create a resource hub for regional food systems practitioners in Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma.

Nutritious Noon Meal: On-Site, Carryout, and Home Delivered Meals are available Sunday thru Friday. Suggested contribution for individuals age 60 or older. All ages are welcome!Fresh Conversations: A free monthly interactive program focusing on physical activity and good nutrition for older adults facilitated by Madeline McCabe. Developed by the Iowa Department of Health and Human Service and the Department on Aging and coordinated by Linn County Public Health.
LSI Receives $10,000 Grant from the Guernsey Charitable Foundation
Funding will support Early Childhood programming in Benton, Black Hawk, and Tama Counties
Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) received $10,000 from the Guernsey
Charitable Foundation to support Early Childhood programming in Benton, Black Hawk,
and Tama Counties. Programming in the areas currently includes Health Families America HOPES.
Healthy Families America-HOPES programs provide evidence-based, in-home prevention
services to at-risk parents of children prenatally through age 5.

SUFFERED LOSSES DUE TO THE PANDEMIC TO APPLY FOR NEW
FEDERAL ASSISTANCE
State Auditor Rob Sand today urged Iowa agricultural
producers who experienced revenue decreases in 2020 as a result of the
pandemic to apply for the Pandemic Assistance Revenue Program (PARP).
“PARP addresses gaps in pandemic assistance for farmers by taking into
account their overall loss of revenue during the first year of the pandemic,” said
Sand.
