4th St. Diner Open for On-site Dining

4th St. Diner, 202 E. 4th Street in Vinton, is now open for on-site dining.  Reservations required by 10:00 am daily. There are a limited number of seats available each day. Reservations can be made up to 3 calendar days in advance  We ask that if you need to cancel your reservation, please do so by 10:00 am as well. The green meal site door will be unlocked at 11:00 am and relocked at 12:30 pm.

Beef producers can learn about forage trial results

Many Iowa producers are including winter annual forages as a cover crop to protect water quality and improve soil health. These forages also can provide early spring grazing to help reduce feed costs and improve the health of spring calving cow herds.Denise Schwab, beef specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, said three field days will be held this month in northeast Iowa as a part of the Forage Alternative Research Project, demonstrating the use of winter annuals for spring grazing.

Since then, a Fish Fry was also scheduled for that night. Because we don't want to take support away from this, we have decided to move our location for Friday to Vinton. So, you can find us this Friday, April 15th in Vinton and Saturday the 16th in Belle Plaine.

Clipper Corner Celebrates 37 Years of Business in Vinton

Barkdoll prepares to style the hair of Mildred Noble Clipper Corner celebrated the shop's 37th Anniversary this month. Mary Barkdoll and Jessica Davis celebrated the shop's accomplishment with an open house. Homemade gifts came in for the ladies from some of their customers as well as congratulatory words for the ladies.The business held an open house, offering refreshments to customers who stopped by and of course, the business of cutting, coloring, and styling continued.
