Vinton Unlimited Welcomes Pourville to their new location
Vinton Unlimited welcomed Pourville Art Studio & Gallery to their new location in downtown Vinton. Following the sale of its former location last December, the shop was without a home until August of 2022. Pourville has had a presence in Vinton for the last three years. Pourville displays and offers the artistic creations of 39 artists from Vinton and surrounding areas. Iowans Against Breed Bans
Through her philanthropic clothing brand, Pupper Mom Apparel, Stephanie Sanders successfully raised over $1,000 for the non-profit organization - Cedar Valley Pit Bull Rescue in Waterloo. Pictured is the rescue’s founder, Donna Penne, posing in the t-shirt Stephanie designed. Through this fundraiser, she hopes to bring awareness to breed specific legislation in Iowa and is working closely with the citizens of Keystone, IA. Thursday evening, Vinton Unlimited visited two area businesses for a formal ribbon cutting. The businesses are located at 115 W. 4th in downtown Vinton. The Niche and Brickside-Brew-N-Chew were welcomed by Melody Snow of Vinton Unlimited who wished the two businesses well in their endeavors. The two area women have made their dreams a reality. "We are happy to be back in Vinton! We are up and running. We hope that people from Vinton take advantage of the Art activities that we will be offering," said Dandeena Schadle owner of Pourville Art Studio and Gallery. Pourville had to relocate last December after the building sold where they had previously been located. The business had been in that location for three years prior. Governor Reynolds signs Harvest Proclamation
Today, Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a proclamation relating to the weight limits and transportation of agricultural commodities on state highways during the fall harvest. The proclamation is effective immediately and continues through October 1, 2022. The proclamation allows vehicles transporting corn, soybeans, hay, straw, silage and stover to be overweight (not exceeding 90,000 pounds gross weight) without a permit for the duration of this proclamation.
Former ICGA President Lillibridge talks fertilizer situation
Fertilizer prices are high.Now, on to new business.As we rode the second half of the Iowa State Fair, we also know that it won’t be long and the combines will hit the field, tillage will start to happen, and we will be setting the stage for next year’s growing season. As we catch our breath from our busiest month to date, we look forward to what September has in store for us.Only six total events for the month, two public and four private. Our awesome staff worked their tails off last month and they need a break. You might notice that we are not setting up during the Vinton Car Cruise on the 24th. If you are in town for this event and you are hungry, please stop at "Merchants Grilling" and tell them we sent you! The plan is to hang up our pizza aprons for the day and help them wherever we can.
