January 27, 2020The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in special session at the Emergency Management Agency Office in the Benton County Law Enforcement Center. Supervisor Primmer called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M. Supervisors Bierschenk and Seeman were also present. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously.The purpose of the meeting was to be present during the public hearing on the FY21 Emergency Management Agency budget.

January 28, 2020The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Primmer, Bierschenk and Seeman present. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously. This morning, Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price released the following statement: “Last night, more than 1,600 precinct caucuses gathered across the state of Iowa and at satellite caucuses around the world to demonstrate our shared values and goal of taking back the White House. The many volunteers running caucus sites, new voters registering as Democrats, and neighbors talking to each other about the future of our country demonstrated the strength of our party.

 It’s been a busy week under the golden dome in Des Moines, as House and Senate files are working their way through their appropriate sub-committees and full committees for the opportunity to be debated and voted on in front of the full House or Senate.  Education funding is a top priority currently in order allow schools to set their budgets for next year.
