V-S Superintendent Hainstock, appointed to School Budget Review Committee
Mary Jo Hainstock, Vinton Shellsburg School Superintendent, has been appointed to fulfil an unexpired term on the School Budget Review Committee. Her term would end in April of 2022, this is a three year term normally. While Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has appointed Hainstock, the Senate will still need to confirm her appointment to the Committee.Hainstock said, “I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve schools across Iowa and continue to be involved with education. February 21, 2020Subcommittee and committee work took up most, if not all, of our time during the sixth week because the end of the week is the first legislative deadline of the year, nicknamed ‘funnel week.’ This deadline requires most legislation be passed out of committee in its originating chamber – Senate bills need to be out of Senate committees, and House bills need to be out of House committees – in order to continue to be considered this session. Benton County Board of Supervisor Minutes 2/13/20
February 13, 2020 The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in special session at 6:00 p.m. at the Farm Bureau Office Building in Vinton. Supervisor Primmer called the meeting to order with Supervisor’s Primmer and Seeman present. Bierschenk arrived later. Discussion was held on the FY21 county budget.

February 11, 2020 The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Primmer, Bierschenk and Seeman were all present. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously. Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve the minutes of February 4, 2020.

It’s a hard subject for many students regardless of their grade level. Even after graduation, math can bedevil even the smartest amongst us.
