Vinton Today has invited the three candidates running for the 2nd Precinct to participate in a forum on February 20, at 6:00 p.m. at the Vinton Public Library. The event will be livestreamed from the library. I will be taking any questions that you might have for the candidates from you the readers. Become a Soil Conservation Commissioner
Opportunities exist to become a Benton Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) Commissioner, give back to your community and have a positive impact on Iowa’s land and people.Seats for three Benton SWCD commissioner seats will be found on the November 3, 2020 election ballot, all four-year terms.SWCD Commissioners help set local priorities for natural resource protection, facilitate activities such as youth and adult conservation outreach and assist the management of district funds and personnel.

February 4, 2020 The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Primmer, Bierschenk and Seeman were all present. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously.
