SF571 for Shared Parenting Passes through Senate

Families United Action Network, announced today that SF571, a bill brought by Families United Action Network and sponsored by Senator Brad Zaun, for the rebuttable presumption of Shared Parenting, has passed through the Senate with a 30-18 vote.The  purpose  of  this  proposed  change  is  to  be  in  compliance  with  studies  by  112  social scientists that all concluded that Shared or collaborative Parenting that strives to maximize parenting time as equally as possible between parents is in the best interest of children of all ages.

Benton County Board of Supervisor Minutes 3/3/20

March 3, 2020                The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Primmer, Bierschenk and Seeman  were all present.  The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m.   Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously.

The ARC advocates Michael Wood and Julie Beckett The session for this year is half over, and the Iowa House passed approximately 56 bills this week. Of those, 75% of them passed unanimously, and only three passed that were along party lines. We are doing good things for Iowa, and these votes are a great example of it!The House and Senate came to an agreement on the K-12 Education funding, with $85.

Benton County Republicans to meet March 10

Greetings from Under the Golden Dome

On Tuesday the House and Senate announced an agreement on a K-12 education funding package for the next school year. Investing almost $100 million in new funding for schools, this money will include $7.65 million for transportation equity and $5.8 million for per pupil equity. The bill passed out of the Senate on Wednesday and is now headed to the governor for her signature.
