Old School Produce brings in the harvest

AmeriCorps and the Vinton-Shellsburg High School Freshman AG class, have lent their hands in the harvesting of the produce from Old School Produce. It is estimated that to date, the gardens have produced around 1,800 lbs of carrots with more to go.

Waterloo Couples Counselor Cited for inappropriate text messages to client

A Cedar Falls couples counselor has been sanctioned by the state for making lewd or improper remarks to one of his clients.According to the Iowa Board of Behavioral Science, Cory Wumkes, who holds a mental health counselor’s license in Iowa, was providing couples counseling when he made “inappropriate verbal comments” and sent inappropriate text messages to one of the clients.

Two Vehicle Accident south of Vinton

Tuesday found the Vinton Fire Department and other emergency services responding to two accidents throughout the day. The second was on Highway 218, south of Vinton at the intersection of 63rd St.
