Glenn “Mike” Dighton

Glenn “Mike” Dighton, 79, of Vinton, IA, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at home surrounded by his loved ones after an almost yearlong battle with leukemia. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 15, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Blessed Hope Church, 1509 South M Ave., Vinton, IA.Mike married Jacqueline Barnes in 1963. They later divorced. To this union 4 children were born.

Kenneth “Kenny” Allan DeFauw

Kenneth “Kenny” Allan DeFauw, 62, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away June 9, 2025 at his home due to medical complications. Kenneth was born July 16, 1962 to Howard and Nancy (Briggs) DeFauw in Geneseo, IL. After graduating from Cambridge High School, class of 1980, Ken enlisted in the U.S. Army. Upon his return he worked for farmers around Cambridge, IL.

Beverly J. Kenney

Beverly J. Kenney, 88, passed away Monday, June 9th at the Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab where she had resided the past two years. Beverly was born May 24, 1937, near Brandon, Iowa, the daughter of Lyle and Gertrude (Bailey) Rogers.On October 8, 1966, she was united in marriage to Gerald “Dean” Kenney at the First Baptist Church in Vinton. Beverly was employed at the Virgina Gay annex in the 1960’s, Cutlas Gear, Perfex, Lutheran Home and for several years was co-owner of The Second Image with her sister Patsy Rouse.

Barbara Jean (Stone) Gustafson

Surrounded by her loving family, Barbara Jean (Stone) Gustafson passed on to Heaven, Sunday, June 8, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, following several lengthy illnesses.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 12, at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton, with Pastor Josh Graber officiating.  Private burial to follow.

Ernest C. “Jake” Jacobson

Ernest C. “Jake” Jacobson, age 78, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025 with his family by his side.     Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM, Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E 6th St) in Vinton. A Celebration of Ernest’s life will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, June 11, also at the funeral home.

Jeffrey Jacob Kimm

Jeffrey Jacob Kimm, age 75, died November 19, 2024, at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI.Jeff was born on November 29 1948.  His parents were Earl and Marion McCune Kimm.  Jeff Grew up in Blairstown and graduated from Benton Community High School in 1968.  He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1968.  In 1970 he attended the California School of art in Oakland California.

Jeffrey Stephen Zea, 70, of La Porte City, Iowa, passed away on May 21st, 2025, from a rare liver cancer at home surrounded by loved ones. A celebration of life will be held on June 28th, 2025, at the American Legion Post 207, 302 Cedar Street, La Porte City, Iowa 50651 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.Jeffrey was born on September 19th, 1954 to David and Sylvia (Steinberg) Zea in Osage, Iowa.

Marlene M. (Zieser) Tuttle, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Urbana, with Rev. Jim Brokman as Celebrant.  Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in rural Urbana.

Richard B. Yates, 93, of Cedar Rapids formerly Palo, died Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Hiawatha Care Center. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Teahen Funeral Home and Cremation are caring for Richard and his family.Richard is survived by his son, Douglas (Debra) Yates of Palo; daughter, Connie (Allen) Stueck of Atkins; grandchildren, Brianna (Preston) Cannady of Queen Creek, AZ, Danielle (Brian) Balvin of Chelsea, Brent (Jessa) Stueck of Hiawatha, and Matthew (Brooke) Yates of Palo; and great-grandchildren, Graham, Gia, Kaylee, Henry, Teagan, Terran, and Tate.
