Spring Thunder postponed to May 7 at Benton County Speedway
With a less than ideal Sunday weather forecast, officials at Benton County Speedway have postponed the season opening Spring Thunder special to May 7.The event will still serve as the first stop for the inaugural season of the Pro Late Model Series.In addition, Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds will vie for a $1,250 winner’s share and qualifying eligibility for this year’s Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational.
Lil Racer Car Club will be OPEN for business this Sunday
The Lil Racer Car Club will be OPEN for business this Sunday at the Benton County Speedway “The Bullring” on a limited basis. With Crew Chief Mitch leaving on vacation (yes, we know, WHO ever schedules vacation during racing season?) we will start club registration on Sunday, May 21, but we will still be giving away racing flags, coloring pictures AND colors -for trophies of course, and have on sale our safety supplies- our safety glasses, goggles, earplugs, AND earmuffs.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association on Monday released its high school football assignments for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.Teams in the eight-player division through Class 4A are assigned to districts and Class 5A teams are separated into groups. Assignments are on a two-year cycle.Schedules for the 2023 and 2024 seasons will be released in April, according to the IHSAA.
