The beauty of swimming is that it can be an individual sport just as much as it can be a team sport. With our numbers being low this season, it will be very tough to compete on the team level with other schools that have squads two, three or four times our size.

This past weekend Vinton enjoyed yet another Boomfest/Boomtown weekend. Kicking off the weekend was the Kiwanis 5K race. The race raised funds for the backpack program that provides additional foods on the weekend for struggling families.

Tough meet - against a talented team about 4 times our size (Waterloo is a co-op of both Waterloo East & West, as well as Don Bosco & Union schools), and some of our girls weren't feeling 100% last night - but we managed to score some points and have some decent swims.

This Sunday night at the Benton County Speedway Bullring will be “Kids Nickel Bag Night”. The first 50 kids to register at the Lil Racer Car Clubhouse will receive a FREE bag of nickels for their very own! We will have racing flags, stuffed animals, and “Coloring pictures for Trophies!”.
