Joyce Elaine Andorf

Joyce Elaine Andorf, 88, Dysart, died Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at UnityPoint Allen Hospital, Waterloo. Joyce was born February 17, 1936 in Garrison to the late Christian and Marcella (Burkey) Grimm of Waterloo, Iowa.  She married LeRoy Andorf on December 30, 1956 in Dysart.  They lived in Wheaton, Illinois for 26 years before returning to Dysart to live, when LeRoy retired in 1990.

Evelyn Lucille Edaburn Engledow Mather of rural Vinton passed away peacefully on March 19, 2024 at her home just days following her 101st birthday.Evelyn was born March 15th, 1923 to John "Burl" Edaburn and Helen (Lunger) Edaburn.Samuel Hendricks Roy Mather and Evelyn were joined in marriage on August 1, 1949 after Evelyn’s first husband Raymond Engledow KIA while serving in WWII.

Virginia A. Kuper, 84, of Independence, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024, at ABCM Rehabilitation Center – West Campus in Independence, IA.Virginia was born on a farm in rural Independence, IA, on March 31, 1939, the daughter of Frank and Myrtha L. (Copenhaver) Wilson. She was the youngest of six children, and grew up in Brandon, Jesup and Independence, IA.

Mildred Schutterle

Mildred Schutterle, age 86, died peacefully at home Saturday, March 16, 2024. A private visitation will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting the family with arrangements.Mildred was born October 31, 1937, to Otto and Anna Doehrmann. She married Loyel Schutterle on February 14, 1960 and worked on the family farm the remainder of her life.

Leo M. Roseberry

 Leo M. Roseberry, 93 passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday April 2, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Urbana, with Fr. Jim Brokman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Urbana.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Monday April, 1st also at the church.

Rick W. Schlitter

Rick W. Schlitter, 67 passed away on March 25, 2024 at Mercy One Hospital in Waterloo. A private family gathering will be held at 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM, Friday, March 29, 2024, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212. E. 6th Street) in Vinton. The family asks that only family members/extended family members attend. Rick was born on April 22, 1956, the son of Willard and Shirley (Krug) Schlitter.

Tom Kemp

An amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather lost his battle with Lewy Body Dementia on March 25, 2024 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Tom Kemp was born in Vinton, IA on February 11, 1947 to Rex and Marian Kemp. Tom graduated from Washington High School in Vinton, IA with the Great Class of 1965. Tom married the love of his life, Shirley Petersen on November 2, 1968, in Vinton, IA.

Joann June Schrage, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Virginia Gay Hospital with her family by her side.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday April 2, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton, with Stephen Preus officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.  Private family interment will be held at The Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel.

Robert (Bob) Wayne Hupfeld

Robert (Bob) Wayne Hupfeld, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2024.Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the Keystone Cemetery.Bob was born on July 4, 1937, in Keystone to Fred and Flossie (Heitman) Hupfeld and attended Belle Plaine High School.  He served his county in the United States Army.Bob worked as a machinist at Amana Refrigeration until his retirement in 1997.
