   4th STREET DINER NEWS The 4th Street Diner meal on Sunday, September 16th will be Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Broccoli/Cheese Sauce, Mixed Green Salad, Peach Crisp, WW Bread, Milk. On Monday, August 6th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. After cards, refreshments were served by the card club.  HACAP provided the beverages.

Clickstop continues to grow

Tammy Karr Urbana-based Clickstop continues to grow, with the addition of staff members and the creation of two new warehouse supervisor positions for the US Cargo Control division. The e-commerce business, which operates nine different websites in addition to its flagship site, USCargoControl.com, now has more than 50 employees, with plans in the works to add more new hires in its warehouse operations.

Iowa Sales/Use Tax Basics

The Iowa Department of Revenue in cooperation with the Iowa Community Colleges will soon be presenting the following interactive online class: Iowa Sales/Use Tax Basics This online course for businesses will provide an overview of Iowa sales and use tax, including local option sales tax. Area firearms instructor Keller offers defensive pistol class this weekend

  A two-day Defensive Pistol Class will be held by Eastern Iowa Firearms Training at the Izaak Walton League Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th. It will be presented by Bill Keller. Day one is Defensive Pistol I. Classroom time covers basic weapons safety, mindset, threat evaluation, weapons manipulation including grip, sight alignment, sight picture, aimed fire, point shooting, a draw from the holster, speed reloads, tactical reloads and clearing weapons malfunctions.

MAKE WAVES CAMPAIGN REACHES OUT TO FARMERS:BUSINESSES PUSH PLEDGES PAST $100,000

    The fundraising campaign for the Traer Swimming Pool renovation project, which has surpassed$100,000 in gifts and pledges, is reaching out to farmers with a special commodities gift program. The Campaign received significant boosts with pledges from Farmers Savings Bank & Trust and William C.

Permit to Carry class scheduled

A four hour course for Iowans to obtain their Permit to Carry Weapons has been scheduled in the area.  The course is only four hours in length and covers handgun safety, gun handling, carry options and Iowa and Federal laws.  There is no exam or range qualification.  Upon completion of the four hour course, attendees will be eligible to apply for their Iowa and Arizona (non-resident) permits which will allow them to legally carry in 37 states.

Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads is available on the buffet. Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal.
