Come hear one of the best bluegrass bands in the Midwest! Lori King and Junction 63 bring a wealth of hard-driving originals, heartwarming gospels, sing-along country grass and, of course, bluegrass! Rachel Dedrick and John Berinobis will start things off with a round of swing blues numbers. Come join the fun!On October 23 there will be a concert from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm at the Farmers Mercantile Hall in Garrison.

Just a little over a year ago, local resident David Gates performed in a play at the Palace Theater called "Meet Me in St, Louis." He played the part of Grandpa Prophater at that time. He will reprise the role in a performance at the Theater Cedar Rapids.  "Again, I have been "type-cast," said Gates, "They needed someone 'older' to be Grandpa and I certainly meet that definition.

Red Cedar Chamber Music will be back in Center Point for a free concert at the Andersen Center Point Public Library on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m.Violinist Miera Kim and cellist Carey Bostian will play new pieces inspired by folk music from around the world. The concert is called “Fresh Folk.” One composition, “A Culture of Courage,” honors the Ukrainians.

The Wolf Creek Players are holding auditions for “Monster In The Closet”.This play is written by Angela D. Stewart and will be directed by Deb Kloster.If you always wanted to perform on stage but were to shy, come be a monster! This play centers around a young girl her brother and Their many friends. We are looking for 18 or more kids for this performance.

He will be in Garrison for a Sunday afternoon of foot-stomping, deep delta blues and American roots music.
