The 2023 Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival will be held April 14-15, 2023 at the Collins Road Theatres, 1462 Twixt Town Road, Marion, Iowa. ACTI will hold a Holiday Double Feature presentation on Saturday, December 3 at 10:30 am and Sunday, December 4 at 2 pm. The two productions include, "SOS: Save Our Santa" and "Reindeer's Revenge."Admission for the two plays will be $5. Concessions will also be available at the Palace. SOS: Save our SantaWho will find Santa? He goes missing and the cast needs to find him so that the children can still have Christmas.

Normally, I don't promote anything happening outside of Benton County. However, it's the Christmas season, and this news release came in. There is a Live Animal Christmas Show that happens in southeast Iowa in Washington, Iowa. I've seen this production, in Washington, Iowa, and as a gal that's seen a lifetime of church productions, this one is impressive.

The Vinton-Shellsburg high school theater department will be performing Disney's The Little Mermaid on Friday and Saturday, November 11th and 12th at beginning at 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, November 13th at 2:00 p.m. You can see the performance in the Vinton Shellsburg High School auditorium. Ticket prices are $10 each. The performance is based on the Hans Christian Andersen story and the Disney film produced by Howard Ashman & John Musker and written & directed by John Musker & Ron Clements.
