Benton County is taking applications for a roadside manager/weed commissioner. Wayne Siela approached the Benton County Supervisors asking them to postpone the hiring. He shared with the supervisors that the job description needed to be better defined. He also shared the areas of conflict and places things that should be improved. He shared concern that there were not any farmers on the committee in charge of hiring the next manager/commissioner that would deal with what concerns farmers.
Labor Day Crushing Results
Labor
Day is the unofficial end of summer and we celebrate with barbecues
and road trips. One of the deadliest and most often committed – yet
preventable – crimes (impaired driving), has become a serious
safety epidemic in our country. AAA indicates the 100 deadliest
days occur from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
According
to the National Highway Traffic Administration (NHTSA) during the
2020 Labor Day holiday period (September 4 – September 8), there
were 530 traffic fatalities nationwide.
