 Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig today encouraged Iowa farmers and producers to participate in the 2022 Census of Agriculture, which is underway across the nation through Feb. 6, 2023.The Census of Agriculture, which is conducted every five years by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), is the nation’s most comprehensive count of America’s farms and ranches, the people who operate them, and the crops and livestock they raise.

City of Shellsburg Notice Regarding Snow Emergency in Shellsburg

When heavy snow or ice accumulations are apparent or predicted Shellsburg city officials will declare a "snow emergency" according to city code 69.15. The declaration of a "snow emergency" will be broadcast to citizens through radio and television outlets and social media. The ban will normally be 48 hours in length, but can be shortened or lengthened so continue to watch for notification.

Gov. Reynolds issues directive to ban access to TikTok on State of Iowa devices

Today, Governor Kim Reynolds issued a directive to the Iowa Department of Management’s Office of the Chief Information Officer to ban TikTok on all state-owned devices and prohibit state agencies from subscribing to or owning a TikTok account. “It is clear that TikTok represents a national security risk to our country and I refuse to subject the citizens of Iowa to that risk,” said Gov.
