Minutes of the Regular Meeting Board of Directors Vinton-Shellsburg Community Schools June 20, 2022 Call to Order President Tom Burke called the regular meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. in the Central Office Board Room. Roll Call / Pledge of Allegiance Kimberly Schirm, Kathy Van Steenhuyse Tom Burke, Jake Fish, Jenni Birker, Darin Humiston, Kyle Koeppen, Superintendent, and Brenda Barkdoll, Board Secretary/Treasurer were present with the exception of Becky Williams.

Vinton-Shellsburg High School announced today that it has been recognized as a 2021-22 Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished School. It is one of just 78 high schools across the U.S., and one of 6 high schools in the state to receive this honor for providing broad access to transformative learning experiences for students through Project Lead The Way.

Vinton-Shellsburg CSD is participating in the Summer Food Service Program.Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.Meals will be provided, on a first come, first serve basis, at the sites and times are as follows:Meals are available to all children ages 1-18Shellsburg ElementaryBreakfast8:00 am-8:30amLunch11:30 am-12:15pm M-FNo registration or identification is required.

June 15, 2022 The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in special session with Supervisors Seeman and Primmer present, Bierschenk called in.
