The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. Moved by Hertle, seconded by Wiley, to approve the minutes of September 1, 2015, and to amend the minutes of August 25, 2015, to include the following: Moved by Wiley, seconded by Hertle, to set September 22, 2015, at 9:15 a.

The next regular meeting of the Benton Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners will be held onWednesday, September 16, 2015, at the District Office, located at 1705 West D Street, Vinton, IA.  The meeting will begin at 8:00 a.m.   Agenda items include:  approval of minutes, approval of treasurer’s report and payment of bills, approval of conservation plans, review of activities for the Benton/Tama Nutrient Reduction Demonstration Project, discussion of the District’s Annual Plan and upcoming events, an update on NRCS programs and activities, state cost share business, correspondence, and other routine business.

September 1, 2015 The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Frese, Hertle and Wiley present. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. Moved by Hertle, seconded by Wiley, to approve the minutes of August 25, 2015. All members voting aye thereon. Motion carried. Moved by Hertle, seconded by Wiley, to set September 29, 2015, at 9:15 a.

The regular meeting of the Benton County Democrats will be held on Tuesday,  September 15, 2015 at the Pizza Ranch in Vinton at seven o'clock in the  evening. Anyone interested in helping the Democrats win the next election  is invited to attend.  

The Benton County Republican Central Committee meeting will be tonight, September 8th, at 7 p.m. at the Van Horne Community Center.  The community center is located at 500 1st Avenue, Van Horne. Please join us as we talk about upcoming county events and caucus planning.
