Call to Order
President Sue Gates called the regular meeting to order at 5:18 p.m.at the Vinton-Shellsburg Central Office.
Roll Call / Pledge of Allegiance
Sue Gates, Rob Levis, Megan Rickels, Brenda Bartz, Mike Timmermans, Kathy Van Steenhuyse,
Angela Hazen, Mary Jo Hainstock, Superintendent, and Brenda Barkdoll, Business Manager/Board Secretary/Treasurer were present.
Benton County Supervisor Minutes for 8/4/15
August 4, 2015
The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Frese, Hertle and Wiley present. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m.
Moved by Wiley, seconded by Hertle, to approve the minutes of July 28, 2015. All members voting aye thereon. Motion carried.
Moved by Wiley, seconded by Hertle, to adopt Resolution #15-63.

Benton County Democrats to meet Aug. 18
The regular meeting of the Benton County Democrats will be held on August
18th at the Pizza Ranch in Vinton at 7 p.m. A Dutch treat buffet is
available before the meeting. Anyone interested is invited to attend.

Benton County Republicans:Raffle Winners/Jindal Visit/Monthly Meeting
The Benton County Republicans held their annual fundraiser complete with agun raffle Friday night.
We heard from candidate representatives from the campaigns of Rick Perry, Marco Rubio, Carly Fiorina, and Ben Carson.
Trevor Loudon, our keynote speaker, gave a rousing speece about getting our country back on track to greatness. After Trevor spoke, he did the honors of drawing for our raffle prizes. Patrol Division Activity Report for July 2015
Benton County Sheriff Randall Forsyth reports that deputies answered 327 calls for service and investigated 27 accidents. Deputies attempted to serve 116 civil papers and issued 59 traffic citations and 95 traffic warnings.
There were 25 arrests/juvenile referrals with 36 charges being filed in July 2015.
(9) were felony charges, (14) were simple misdemeanors, and (13) were indictable misdemeanors.
VS School Board meeting agenda, Aug. 10
The monthly meeting of the Vinton-Shellsburg School board will take place at 5:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, in the board meeting room of the administrative building (north end of the middle school)
