VAN HORNE:A tribute written by Clede's daughter- Clede LeRoy Johnson, born June 29, 1935 in Filmore, Utah, in his Grandmother's bed (a fact he was proud of), at the irreversible age of 77 years old, passed away peacefully at home in Van Horne on September 4, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 6, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Vinton with Father Ardel Barta as Celebrant. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton and one hour prior to Mass on Thursday at the church.

Independence – Ruth Marie Donnelly, 83 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at the Virginia Gay Hospital Nursing and Rehab Center in Vinton, Iowa.
She was born on October 5, 1928, in Quasqueton, Iowa, the daughter of Frank William and Vera Winifred (Melick) Gapinski. She graduated from high school in Quasqueton with the Class of 1945. William Paul Ohlen
