Genevieve Monroe Franzenburg, 96, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at Hiawatha Care Center in Hiawatha following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone, with the Rev. Richard Osslund officiating. Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone from 2 to 4 p.

       Ione Funk, 99, of Center Point passed away on Tuesday, November, 22, 2011, at Rock Ridge Residential Care, Shellsburg.      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m  Friday, November 25, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Center Point. Pastor Michael Ellson will officiate with burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery at 1:30 PM.

KEYSTONE:   Maurice E. Pickering, 98, of Keystone, died Monday, November 21, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospice in Cedar Rapids.  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Salem United Methodist Church in  Van Horne, with Pastor Norm Bennett officiating.  Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Belle Plaine   Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.

SHELLSBURG – Ethel Irene Sweet, 82 of Shellsburg died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness after an extended life of happiness and friends      Funeral Services for Ethel will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November, 23, 2011 at Oak Grove Church near Shellsburg with Pastor Larry Rodgers officiating.

CEDAR RAPIDS – Bonnie Jean Hamman Kruse, 85 of Cedar Rapids died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.       Funeral Services for Bonnie will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Phillips Funeral Home, 108 Fremont Street in Blairstown with Rev.

VINTON – Ronald “Ronnie” Tharp, 41 of Dandridge, TN and formerly of Vinton died Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Dandridge, TN following a sudden illness.       Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Vinton with Pastor Connie Wacht officiating.

     Vinton—Dick L. Brammer, age 57, died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab in Vinton.  Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home.  Private family burial.     Dickie Lee Brammer was born October 24, 1954 in Iowa City, the son of Henry and Mary Lou Blaine Brammer.

Duane Eldon Mullinex, 76, of Maquoketa, formerly of Shellsburg, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Jackson County Hospital in Maquoketa following a brief illness. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at Phillips Family Center, 605 Second Ave., Vinton. Friends may call at the Family Center from 1 p.m. until service time. He is survived by his children, Eric (Jessica) Mullinex of Cedar Rapids, Stacey Mullinex of Independence and Stephanie Mullinex of Waterloo; and his sisters, Norma Coy of Shellsburg, June Breedlove of Oklahoma and Imogene Shoemaker of Arizona.
