Anders Jensen Norgaard, 79, of Belle Plaine, Iowa, passed away after a sudden illness on Sept. 3, 2023, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He was surrounded by his loving wife and children.Anders was born June 4, 1944, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Lt. Col. Jens A. Norgaard and Mary Jo (Silvy) Norgaard. He spent the majority of his childhood in Northwest Indiana.

Larry Joseph Taylor, was born December 14, 1952 in Oelwein, Iowa. A resident of Belle Plaine, he passed away on August 29th, 2023 in Belle Plaine, Iowa.Larry was the father of Nicole Barth, Jeanette Dostal, Jason Taylor all of Iowa and Jessica Taylor of Wisconsin.

Frederick “Fred” Lawrence Lutz Jr., 76, of Walker, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion, Iowa. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept.

Delores May Janss, 94, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away September 3, 2023 at Keystone Care Center.Delores was born December 23, 1928 to Eldo and Idella (Gwecke) Meyer. She attended country school in rural Benton County and graduated from Belle Plaine High School. Following school, Delores worked for a local dentist office. On February 27, 1949 she married Thomas Janss at the First Lutheran Church, Belle Plaine.

Barbara A. Kiler, 84, of Brandon, Iowa, died on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023, at her home in Brandon, Iowa.Barbara was born on Jan. 31, 1939, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of James and Laura (Marsh) Bowers. She was raised in Brandon, Iowa, and attended the Brandon Community Schools. On Nov. 8, 1956, Barbara married Lytell H. Kiler in Princeton, Mo. They lived in Denver and La Porte City, Iowa, for a short time before making Brandon, Iowa, their forever home again.

Gail J. Morris, age 50, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, with her family by her side. A celebration of Gail’s life will be held at 10:00 AM Sunday, September 10, 2023 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton, with Harm Olthouse officiating. Reception following at the Van Horne Community Center (508 1st Ave.

Michael Dennis Shea (Mike Shea) 60, of Marion, died Monday, August 28, 2023 at his home. Services: 10:00a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023 at St. Jude Catholic Church by Rev. Nicholas March. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service. Celebration of life will be held after at Esco Electric in Cedar Rapids.

 Marilyn Ann Wolfe, age 91, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the Gardens of Cedar Rapids.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton.  Interment will be held at Urbana Memorial Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, also at the funeral home.

Richard “Dick” Feuerhelm, age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at his Vinton home with his family by his side.A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Dick & Beulah’s home in Vinton, 1316 W. 1st Street.Dick was born on June 21, 1943 in California.  He served his Country in the United States Navy from, 1960 until 1964, aboard the U.

Donna Mae Dietze, 80, of Marengo, IA (formerly of Belle Plaine, IA) passed away August 27, 2023 at Belle Plaine Specialty Care. Donna was born July 21, 1943 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Benhart and Hilda (Rethman) Knipp. She is survived by her children, Dean (Mimi) Lawthers of Marshalltown, Steve (Jo) Sauer of Rochester, MN, Rick Dietze of Cedar Rapids, Betty (Steve) Vislisel and Sandy (Dave) Robertson both of Blairstown; sister Norma Gould of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Justin (Rachel) and Cole (Taylor) Williams, Kyle Bracy, Kelsi Bringmann, Hannah Sauer, Amber and Beth Lawthers, David (Lynnette) Dietze, Ashley Dietze, Ava Maxwell; great-grandchildren, Edwin and Lillian Williams and Kinley and Ellie Williams, Leea and Emma Harwick.
