Linda Jane (Kester) Eastin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda (Kester) Eastin, who left us peacefully on April 17, 2023, at age 66, to be reunited in Heaven with her son, Matthew, who passed away at just nine months old in 1978. Linda was born on Oct. 19, 1956, to Glenn and Jane (Neiderhiser) Kester and was raised on the family farm outside of Urbana, Iowa, where she graduated from Urbana High School in 1975.

Arlene Mae Fintel

Arlene Mae Fintel, 97, of Elberon, IA passed away April 26, 2023 at Keystone Care Center, Keystone, IA.Arlene was born December 18, 1925 to Edward and Nannie (Jordt) Deppe on the family farm in rural Keystone, IA. She attended school in Keystone until moving to Cedar Rapids, IA where she graduated from Wilson High School. Arlene married Howard Fintel on May 18, 1947, following his return of WWII, at the Trinity Lutheran Rectory in Cedar Rapids.

Donald W. Dixon

Donald W. Dixon, 65, of Miles, Iowa, sadly passed away at the MercyOne Clinton Medical Center in Clinton, Iowa after suffering a heart attack on April 24, 2023. He was born on January 15, 1958 in Bloomfield, Iowa to Edward Dean “E.D.” and Shirley Savage Dixon. He worked for Reichman Sales and Services Inc. out of Toluca, Illinois in agriculture chemical and seed sales.

Judy Kay (Kendall) McVay-Edgerly

Judy Kay (Kendall) McVay-Edgerly, 75, passed away at the Compass Memorial Hospital in Marengo, IA, on Saturday, April 22, 2023.A visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. with Pastor Luke Caster officiating. Adah Lois Schminke

Adah Lois Schminke, 88, of Independence, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at her home in Prairie Hills Assisted Living Center in Independence, Iowa.Adah was born on Sept. 12, 1934, in Cameron, Mo., the daughter of Jackson and Joy E. (Neff) Doyel. She attended the Vinton Schools, and married Gerald E. Schminke on June 11, 1951. She was employed with Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for 13 years.

Douglas Allan Ness

Douglas Allan Ness, 57, of Atkins, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023.   Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 25th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at St. John XXIII Catholic Church located at 8100 Roncalli Dr. SW, Cedar Rapids.  Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 26th at 10 a.m., at St. John XXIII Catholic Church.

Edna Dedrick

Edna Dedrick, 71, passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. Per Edna’s request, there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.Edna was born December 20, 1951 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Willard and Patricia (Reilly) Kies. She attended school in Cedar Rapids. On October 3, 1970, Edna was united in marriage to Theodore (Ted) Dedrick in Cedar Rapids.

Elsie Jane Petersen

Elsie Jane Petersen passed away at home with her husband, Dr. Horace (Pete) Petersen and family present on Saturday, April 15th. Jane was 90 years (young)! She is also survived by her children Brent, Julie, David, Scott, Barry, and 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.Jane started her life in the small town of Atkins, Iowa where her father and mother, Chester and Mabel Hagan, operated a farm.

Natica Renelle Dornan

Natica Renelle Dornan, 51 of Greenville, North Carolina, passed away at her home on April 20, 2023. Tica, as she was known, was born on December 6, 1971. Tica lived in Vinton, Iowa during most of the 1970s before moving to Virginia Beach, VA.She is survived by her three daughters, Kaile Solari, Mackenzie Solari and Peyton Orlopp; father, Jack Dornan and mother Teresa (Lynch) Phillips; her sister, Casey (Jimmy) Six and their daughter Charlotte; her uncles, Thomas (Cindy) Lynch of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Steven (Pam) Lynch of Cascade, Iowa; grandmother, Sheila Lynch of Garrison, Iowa; and several cousins.

Michael Raymond Less

Husband.  Father.  Survivor.  Hero. Friend.Michael Raymond Less, 77, of Atkins, died Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at home following a courageous battle with cancer.  Services: 11 a.m., Thursday, April 27, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church, Newhall by Rev.
