Linda (Kester) Eastin
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda (Kester) Eastin, who left us peacefully on April 17, 2023, at age 66, to be reunited in Heaven with her son, Matthew, who passed away at just nine months old in 1978. Linda was born on October 19,1956, to Glenn and Jane (Neiderhiser) Kester and was raised on the family farm outside of Urbana, Iowa, where she graduated from Urbana High School in 1975.
Irene Mae (Tumilty) White
Irene Mae (Tumilty) White, 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 16, 2023 in the loving hands of the nurses at the Hiawatha Care Center, surrounded by her family.Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM, until 10:45 AM, Friday, April 21, 2023, at the First Christian Church in Vinton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday also at the church.
Ida Marie Kosnar
Ida Marie Kosnar, 106, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Sunrise Hill Care & Rehab Center in Traer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2023 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Traer with Father Anthony Nketiah as Celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church from 2:00 p.m. until time of service.
Dorothy J. Thiele
Dorothy J. Thiele, 86, of La Porte City, died Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at La Porte City Specialty Care in La Porte City.She was born January 11, 1937, in Waterloo, daughter of Harold O. and Lilliane D. Maynard Thiele. Dorothy graduated from La Porte City High School in 1955. She married Thomas Gill in 1956; they later divorced. She married Thomas Wharf in 1975, in Brooklyn, MA, they later divorced.
Susan “Sue” Kay Crawford
Susan “Sue” Kay Crawford was born on July 24, 1954, in Waterloo, the daughter of Robert and Marjorie (Kopriva) Kriz. Sue attended Dysart-Geneseo High School and graduated in 1972. While in high school, she was very active in many sports. On October 27, 1973, Sue was united in marriage to Rick Crawford. The couple made their home in Dysart where they raised their family.
Erik Studer
The Studer and Stodola families sorrowfully announce the passing of their son, fiancé, brother, and uncle, Erik Studer. Erik, 26, died on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 following a pulmonary embolism. A Celebration of Erik's life will be held on Saturday, April 15, at the Wildcat Country Club, located at 100 Wildcat Trail, Shellsburg, Iowa. There will be an open house from 1-4:00 p.

Kenneth “Kenny” George Goodell, 81, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. Bonnitta (Bonnie) J. Johnston
Loving sister, aunt, cousin, and friend Bonnitta (Bonnie) J. Johnston, 79, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully after a long battle with heart and lung disease on February 16, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, with her niece Monica at her side. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, William Frank Bower and Ethel Josephine (Wheeler) Bower; brothers Allen, William, and James Bower; and sister Barbara Schermerhorn.
Howard Deloye Corum
Howard Deloye Corum, 83, of Van Horne, formerly of Shellsburg and Central City, passed on April 6, 2023. Howard will be cremated and interred at Cedar Memorial with a later time with a small graveside service.Howard was born to Edward and Theresa (Ralston) Corum on Dec. 16 1939, in Marion, Iowa. He was the baby boy of the family and he knew it, and was slightly spoiled and stubborn.
