Ronald "Rocky" Preece

Ronald "Rocky" Preece, 61, of Cedar Falls, died unexpectedly on Friday, 6/9/2023. He was born 7/25/1961, in Kansas City, Kansas, son of James and Patricia (Cutler) Preece. Rocky attended Cedar Falls High School then entered the Iowa National Guard serving for over 30 years including a deployment to Iraq in 2008. He held other jobs over the years including Doty Construction, Zanotti Armor, Bertch Cabinet, Black Hawk Waste, Benton's Sand and Gravel and, most recently, Arends Excavating.

Betty Jane Hilsabeck Callaway

Betty Jane Hilsabeck Callaway, age 85, of Conrad, formerly of Blairstown passed away peacefully, and went into her heavenly home on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab in Vinton, with her family by her side.Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown, with Rev. Jeff Schanbacher officiating.

LeRoy L. Parizek

LeRoy L. Parizek, 85, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away June 15, 2023 at Keystone Care Center following a long battle with cancer. LeRoy was born March 29, 1938 in Clutier, IA the son of Leo and Anna (Vileta) Parizek. He graduated from Dysart Geneseo High School, class of 1957. Following school, he worked as a farm hand. In 1960 he was drafted into the U.

Michael Hite

Michael Ross Hite was born on December 3rd, 1945, to Harold and Eileen Hite, at Mercy Hospital. Mike was the fourth of seven children who grew up in Vinton, Iowa. After graduating Vinton High school, Mike was drafted in the U.S. Army and went to the Vietnam War where he was an E5 Sargent. After serving, he came home went back to his job of tuckpointing.
