Steven A. Camarata

Steven A. Camarata, 72, of La Porte City, died on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa. Steven was born on March 31, 1951 in Cedar Falls, the son of Alfred and Vera Koch Camarata.He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1970.Steven married Diane Richardson on October 6, 1973 in La Porte City. He worked at Viking Pump for 43 years in the machine shop doing various positions, retiring in 2017.

Robert V. "Bob" McLaren

Robert V. "Bob" McLaren, 97, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went hometo be with the Lord on January 24, 2024, after a life well lived.Bob was born September 29, 1926, in Butler County, IA, to George "Vern" and Freda (Lursen) McLaren.He attended school in Hampton, IA, and Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA. He spent a short period of timein the Army Air Corps at the end of WWII and was in the reserves at the start of the Korean Conflict.

George Robert Selk, Jr.

George Robert Selk, Jr., 87, of Traer, Iowa, died peacefully with family by his side on December 19, 2023.George Selk was born on February 25, 1936, to George and Ida Selk in Waterloo, Iowa. After graduating from La Porte City High School in 1954, George traveled west with a friend, building silos in Montana before being drafted by the Navy in 1955.

Richard (Rich) Kay Krafka

Richard Kay (Rich) Krafka, 85, of rural Dysart, passed away January 25, 2024, at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer, Iowa.  Funeral services will be held at the Dysart, Iowa, United Methodist Church, on Wednesday, January 31, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Mechille Boldt officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday, January 30, from 3-6 p.

Roger Dean Pohlmann

Roger Dean Pohlmann, 84, of Monticello, Ill., passed peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, at 4:03 p.m. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at Teahen Funeral Home Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Rogers’s family will greet friends on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Roger will be laid to rest at Shiloh Cemetery, Hiawatha, Iowa, with a luncheon immediately following at the funeral home.

C. D. “Bub” Reifenstahl

Surrounded by his loving family, C. D. “Bub” Reifenstahl, 71, passed away at his residence, Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Visitation will be 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton. Bub was born December 7, 1952 in Vinton, the son of Don and Alberta (Demmel) Reifenstahl. He was a graduate of Washington High School, Vinton.

DeAnn Lynn Miller

DeAnn Lynn Miller 63, of Waterloo, died Monday January 22, 2024, at Unity Point Allen Hospital, under the care of Unity Point Hospice.She was born August 15, 1960 in Waterloo, daughter of Charles and Delores Puhl Steiner. She was educated in the Waterloo school system.She married Mark Miller on February 18,1980 in Gilbertville, IowaDeAnn was employed as an office manager at Channel Communications.

Leo L. Rabe

Leo L. Rabe, age 82 of Blairstown, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024, at Compass Memorial Healthcare, Marengo. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, January 26, 2024, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established.Leo is survived by his three children, Andrew (Shannon) Rabe, Blairstown, Jason “Jake” (Erika) Rabe, Blairstown, and Lisa Rabe, Watkins; five grandchildren, Stephanie Moore (Clayton Whitney), Kaleb (Abbey) Rabe, Samantha Rabe (Kolby Volesky), Colton (Hazel) Rabe and Clayton Rabe; four great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, David Jones; a sister-in-law, Peggy Rabe; and his bonus family, Mason and Mindy Blizek and their five children, Promise City.

Jim Howard

 Jim Howard, age 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2024 in Hiawatha, Iowa. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday January 27, 2024, at the Urbana Methodist Church, with Rev. Michael Sells officiating.  Following the memorial service, the family would like to invite everyone for refreshments at the church.

Edward J. “Bud” Novak

Edward J. “Bud” Novak, 91, of Belle Plaine, was called to be at home with his Lord & Savior on January 18, 2024.Edward was born on March 18, 1932, to William and Emma (Vornholt) Novak in Ely ,IA. He graduated from Wilson High School, Cedar Rapids, IA in 1950. Following graduation, Ed joined the Navy in 1951. His first permanent duty was with the VP-45 in Panama.
