Norman H. "Norm" Boeckmann, 89, of La Porte City, died Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at NorthCrest Specialty Care. He was born September 23, 1933, in Bremer County, the son of Herman and Meta Hartman Boeckmann. He married Ramona "Monie" Eickelberg on November 29, 1953, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo.He served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 15 years. Russell J. Upah
Russell J. Upah, 85, of Belle Plaine, Iowa passed away Monday, July 31, 2023, at his home surrounded by loving family. Russ was born May 1, 1938, on the family farm east of Vining, Iowa to Milvoy and Blanche (Zmolek) Upah. Russ attended rural Vining School, then went on to buy a truck and start his own corn shelling business.Russ married Maxine Kacer on November 20, 1956, at St. Calvin Marcus
Calvin Marcus, age 87, of rural Prinsburg, passed away Saturday morning, July 29, at his residence under CentraCare Rice Hospice.Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, at the Raymond Christian Reformed Church. Ronald “Lars” Larsen, age 76, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at The Iowa City VA Medical Center. Ron was born on August 14, 1946 in Anamosa, the son of Kenneth and Betty (Griffin) Larsen. Ron graduated from Anamosa High School with the class of 1964 and then enlisted in The United States Navy and was assigned to the USS Cannon stationed out of Guam, serving 2 tours in Vietnam. David “Dave” A. Keeling, 72, of Belle Plaine, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the Belle Plaine Specialty Care surrounded by his family. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.David was born on Oct. 29, 1950, to Robert and Beverly (Shannon) Keeling in Crawfordsville, Ind. David Lingard officiating. Burial will follow in the Keystone Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 5:00 PM on Sunday at the church in Van Horne.
