Julie Ann Salyars, 66 of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family on Sunday, November 19, 2023.   Julie is survived by two daughters, Rose Schleben and Kimberly Salyars of Cedar Rapids; two grandsons Jake Bruner (Taran White) of Vinton, and Steven Andrews of Cedar Rapids; two granddaughters, Alysha Bruner and Jaedyn Andrews of Cedar Rapids; two great-granddaughters, Addysen Bruner and Asuna Smith of Cedar Rapids; four great-grandsons Braidyn Bruner of Cedar Rapids, Dorrance, Zander, and LeRoy Averkamp of Worthington, and three sisters, Charlene McGrath of Monroe, WI, Tina Walton of Worthington, IA, and Gail Aumiller of Dubuque, IA.

Hopper, 91, of Washburn, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital in Waterloo.He was born on November 17, 1931, in Sauk County, WI, son of Evertt M. and Ruth V. Hitchcock Hopper. Keith graduated from West Waterloo High School in 1949. He married Gladys Bird on June 26, 1954, in Aurora.

Robert W. "Bob" Frescoln

Robert W. "Bob" Frescoln, 74, of rural Libertyville, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023 at Jefferson County Health Center with his family present.Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Batavia United Methodist Church in Batavia. Burial will be at Batavia Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 a.

Larry Alvin King

Larry Alvin King was born December 5, 1944, in Correctionville, Iowa, the son of Earl and Elsie (Schumacher) King. He married Connie Lee Matiak on August 29, 1991, in Sioux City, Iowa. Larry worked for Coca-Cola, retiring after 38 years. He enjoyed woodworking, baking and he was a very crafty handyman. Larry passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Ravenwood Specialty Care, at the age of 78.

Harold William Bader

Harold William Bader, 94, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away peacefully at his group-home residence on November 8, 2023.Harold was born February 8, 1929, to Rudy and Elsie (Hock) Bader and grew up on the family farm near La Porte City, Iowa. The oldest of three children, he graduated from Geneseo High School in 1947, where he was a pivotal player on the basketball team that made it to the 1945 state tournament.

Mark Alan Kleihauer

Mark Alan Kleihauer, age 61 of Spirit Lake, IA, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Unity Point Hospital in Sioux City, IA. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2023, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee, IA. Pastor Larry Ostercamp will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Richard “Buddie” Suchy

Richard “Buddie” Suchy, 89 of Elberon, IA passed away November 14, 2023 at Keystone Care Center.Richard was born May 15, 1934 to Milo Frank and Alice B. (Viktora) Suchy at home in Elberon. He attended country school and worked at Skelly Station in Belle Plaine, IA.  On January 19, 1953, Richard married Pauline M. Cizek in Vining, IA.  After buying his first farm in 1955, Richard farmed his entire life.

Sandra Ann Fratzke

Sandra Ann Fratzke, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and collector, was born July 3, 1951. On November 14, 2023, she skated back into the arms of her beloved husband Dennis, 54 years after they met while roller skating in Independence. The daughter of Kenneth Simon and the former Irene McCrady, Sandra was born in Waterloo. Sandra and Dennis married in 1969 and had three children, Kelly, Daniel, and Dawn.

Leslie Davis Mullnix

Surrounded by her loving family, Leslie Davis Mullnix, 79, passed away peacefully from a brief illness at St. Luke’s Hospital Sunday, November 12, 2023. Private services will be held. Public Celebration of Life will be 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Vinton. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Leslie and her family.
