A celebration of life will be held June 24th at Shellsburg Mason Hall from 10 to 2.Ivan was born January 19th, 1958 to Wayne and Nadine (Hinckley) Grimm. Ivan was a jack of all trades, working in different careers throughout his life. He liked to watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

Services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church 1206 C Ave, Vinton, IA 52349 on Saturday, June 10th, 2023 with visitation from 2 pm to 4 pm and service at 4 pm, officiated by Pastor Anne Williams.Dick was born at home in Garrison on August 5th, 1935 to parents Thornton and Meana (Ehlers) Grimm.

(Millie) Armstrong Kalish, the author of Little Heathens, passed away on
May 24th, 2023, two months after her 101st birthday. Born
on St Patrick’s Day in 1922 in Garrison, IA, Millie was raised on a
small family farm during the Great Depression. Her childhood
experiences laid the foundation for her deep connection to the land
and fostered a profound appreciation for self-sufficiency and
community.

She was united in marriage to P. LaVern Gaffney on January 19, 1958, at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Independence, IA.
