Eugene (Gene) Michael Close, 75, of Wylie , TX, passed away on July 2, 2023 after a short battle with cancer.Gene was born on October 28, 1947 to Martin Minniffee Close and Lucy Georgiana Close (Sellers) in Brandon, IA. After getting his high school diploma from Washington High in Vinton Iowa, Gene went on to serve in the United States Army where he fought in the Vietnam War. Bernice Irma Foulk
Bernice Irma Foulk, 93, of La Porte City, IA, passed peacefully at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home on Saturday, July 1, 2023. She was born February 8, 1930, at the farm of her paternal grandparents Wilhem and Christina (Eippert) Wagner in Tuttle, ND. She was the eldest daughter of George and Martha (Schwindt) Wagner. Mardell Johnson, 86, died at home on Saturday, July 1, 2023, surrounded by her husband and children.A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, at First Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine, where the family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
