Alan Raymond Krueger, 72, of Center Point, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. In accordance with his wishes, his body was cremated, and inurnment will be held at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg, Iowa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Center Point is assisting the family with arrangements.

Donald Gene Albertsen, age 89, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, July 31, 2023, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church Van Horne, with Rev. Helen Fern Martz was born November 1, 1930, to William and Fern Martz in Vinton, Iowa. Helen married Harold W. Purdy on June 22, 1949, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 1961, they made a home and raised their family in Brandon, Iowa. Surrounded by his loving family, James “Jim” “Pappy” Osborn, Jr., 63, died Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at his home. There will be no services. A long-time resident of Oelwein, Iowa, Ruth Staton, age 91, died peacefully following a battle with cancer on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at her home in Olathe, Kansas with family at her side. Ruth was born February 27, 1932, in Oelwein, the daughter of Peter J. and Mary C. (Vesh) Vela. In 1950, she graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in Oelwein and Mercy School of Nursing in Cedar Rapids in 1953. Barbara Jo Buck

Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 24 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.
