VSU Girls Swimming 10/12 in Williamsburg
VSU swam at the 6-team invitational in Williamsburg Monday night and came away with a big win - finishing in the team standings 33.5 points ahead of the strong second place home team. VSU won all three relays and three other individual events. But we talk all year about how one or two, or even four or five girls can't win a meet. It takes all hands on deck - every finish counts.

Girls Swimming at LinnMar 9/19
VSU Girls Swimming was at LinnMar over the weekend for a double dual with LinnMar and Tipton. High school swimming is a one-class sport - meaning all schools compete against each other, regardless of size classification. This gives athletes the opportunity to compete against the very best in the state no matter location or school size. LinnMar (a 4A school twice the size of VS, CPU & Union combined) provides challenging competition every time we meet them, so we look at this meet as a chance to shake up our lineup and allow girls to swim events outside their usual repertoire.

Girls Swim Meet @ Williamsburg 9/14
Final ResultsOn the road at Williamsburg for a 6 team invitational Monday night. VSU took 2nd place in the meeting with Williamsburg, Keokuk, Grinnell, Centerville, and Oskaloosa - just 25 points behind Williamsburg, but 125 points ahead of 3rd place Grinnell. Williamsburg is a very competitive team for us - we're pretty evenly matched in school and team size, so it's always a challenge meeting up with them.
VSU Swim Meet 9/10 @ Oskaloosa
The VSU girls swim team had a successful night at a 4-team meet in Oskaloosa. No visiting spectators were allowed in so the meet was live streamed instead. You'd never know it by the noise level though - the teams themselves proved to be great cheering sections. The meet was scored as a triple dual - and VSU won each of their match-ups by 16, 43, and 54 points.
