Berry Jr. Tops Stellar Field of IMCA Modifieds In Dirt Knights Special

The 2020 racing season came to an end on Sunday night as the Benton County Speedway, “The Bullring” hosted the final stop of the season on the Dirt Knights IMCA Modified Tour. 27 drivers took the initial green flag with the feature field [st] by a redraw of the heat race qualifiers. The first two rows included BCS multi time track Champion, Troy Cordes, National Point leader Tom Berry Jr.

The girls had solid times, some again improving their best times from last year.At the beginning of each season, each swimmer writes down their goals and how they intend to work to achieve those specific goals. Several girls have already reached their goals - and not because they weren't challenging enough, but because they've worked incredibly hard to get there.

The first meet is always interesting as the squad is generally untested and is primarily working on building endurance and honing technique. IMCA Speed Shift TV Dirt Knights Tour makes history with 100th event Sunday

Another chapter in IMCA Modified history will be written on Sunday, when the Speed Shift TV Dirt Knights Tour comes to Benton County Speedway. The 100th event in tour history will be held at Vinton, the track where the IMCA Modified division first raced more than 40 years ago. Winner of three of the first six Dirt Knights events this season, Ethan Braaksma is poised to become the 11th different champion in as many years the tour has been held.

Kruetners benefit from the Team Sprit of the V-S Girls Basketball Team

The V-S Girl's Basketball Team scores big against Derecho For many, last week's storm found cleanup something of a task in need of many hands. Sophia Kreutner an upcoming Sophmore at Vinton-Shellsburg, shared images of her family's residence following the storm. As part of the girl's basketball team, some of the players of the team got together on Monday evening to make a plan to help the Brian and Jen Kreutner family.

VINTON — They’re already working hard every morning at practice, but members of the Vinton-Shellsburg football team have been pulling double-duty as many Viking players and coaches have been out in the area helping residents clean-up after Monday’s derecho storm.“We have a lot of kids who have been busting their tails after practice helping our community,” said V-S head coach Jim Womochil.
