July 7, 2020 The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Primmer, Bierschenk and Seeman present. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. Members of the public were provided the zoom access capability to join in during open session and watch live at the county’s YouTube channel.

Golf Cart Ordinance Updates, Signage in New Division, Public Hearings Set

It is worth reminding drivers of golf carts that you are not allowed to drive the vehicles on the following roads: Highways 150 or 218, but you can cross these routes.
City Approves of Land Use change for Stoney Arch Estates Subdivision
The City Council approved a land-use change for Elwick Bros. LLC a business owned by Mike Elwick. The City of VInton has a zoning ordinance that allows for the review of construction and zoning changes within a two-mile radius of the Vinton city limits. Elwick Bros. LLC would like to begin the second phase of their subdivision over in the Stoney Arch area.

Benton County Republicans to meet
The Benton County Republican Party Central Committee will meet on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 7:00 PM. The meeting will take place at the Van Horne Community Center.There will be a time of comments from elected officials and candidates for office. The next BCRCC meeting will be held on August 11, 2020
Benton County Supervisors Approve Land Use Change for New Wedding Venue
At Tuesday's Supervisor meeting, Brandon and Jenica Jordan requested a land use change for Parcel E, Section 27 of the Benton Township. The couple plan to create a new location that could be used for weddings just 3 1/2 miles north of Shellsburg off of 32nd Ave. The couple plan to make the venue large enough to hold 250 guests including a patio area outside.
