The Benton County Republicans will hold their monthly meeting Tuesday, April 14th, at the Vinton Pizza Ranch located at 219 W 4th Street in their back meeting room.  The meeting will start at 7 p.m., but meeting attendees are welcome to come beforehand and enjoy a dutch treat buffet.   Topics for discussion include reviewing the Benton County Precinct Leader List; current state legislative session; planning for the next causus-to-convention cycle; and the fundraising event which will be held on August 7th, 2015.

The next regular meeting of the Benton Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the District Office, located at 1705 West D Street, Vinton, IA.  The meeting will begin at 8:00 a.m.        Agenda items include:  approval of minutes, approval of treasurer’s report and payment of bills, approval of conservation plans, review of activities for the Benton/Tama Nutrient Reduction Demonstration Project, discussion of the District’s Annual Plan and upcoming events, an update on NRCS activities, state cost share business, correspondence, and other routine business.

March 31, 2015  The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Frese, Hertle and Wiley present.  The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m.  Moved by Wiley, seconded by Hertle, to approve the minutes of March 24, 2015.  All members voting aye thereon.  Motion carried.

March 24, 2015 The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Frese, Hertle and Wiley present. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. Moved by Hertle, seconded by Wiley, to approve the minutes of March 17, 2015. All members voting aye thereon. Motion carried. Moved by Wiley, seconded by Hertle, to approve checks numbered 213889 through 214052, payroll checks numbered 138164 through 138180, and ACH deposits numbered 23562 through 23692, for payment.

All Charges are subject to review by The Benton County Attorney’s Office. An arrest or criminal charge is merely an accusation and the Defendant is presumed innocent and unless proven guilty.
