Edith Darlene (Walser Cook) Suchomel, age 99, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, with her family by her side, after suffering an apparent stroke. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Oak Grove Church in rural Shellsburg with Pastor Matt Magee and David Upah as co-officiants.

Randy “Rudy” Osborn, 63, of Mount Vernon, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, Saturday June 18, 2022, of esophageal cancer. Celebration of Life: 4 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the Stewart Baxter Funeral and Memorial Service in Mount Vernon. Celebrant Dawn Stephens will officiate. Visitation and viewing: 2 to 4 p.m.

Kathryn W. Brann, 92, of Cedar Rapids died at Unity Point Health St. Luke’s Hospital on Sunday, June 19, 2022. Funeral services and burial will be held at a later date.  Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.Kathryn is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Randy) Smith of Center Point and Donita Ohrt of Vinton; two sons, Rick (Penny) Ohrt of Vinton and Roger (Lori) Ohrt of Fort Dodge; five grandchildren, Tana (Chris) Turnbaugh and Jama (Josh) Robinson both of Cedar Rapids, Stefanie Ohrt of Des Moines, Gary (Keri) Ohrt of Corcoran, MN and Eric (Alysa) Ohrt of Granger and nine great grandchildren.

Dolores Mae Palmer, 93, of Mt. Auburn died after a short illness surrounded by family on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the Virginia Gay Hospital. Services: 10:30 a.m. will be on Saturday, at the Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church by Pastor Luke Evans. Burial will be at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday after 9:30 a.

Shirley Ann "Lee" Corbett, 93, of Grundy Center, IA, formerly of Vinton, entered God's Kingdom on June 20th, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Vinton with Rev. Phil Borleske officiating.  Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time Thursday at the church.

Marjorie Lucille Feuerhelm, 92 of Shellsburg, died Thursday, June 16, 2022 at her home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Church, Shellsburg by Pastor Matt Magee. Burial: Dunham Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church, and at the church on Wednesday after 9:30 a.m. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.

Richard C. “Dick” Bridge, 92, died peacefully on June 18, 2022 at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospital.Graveside services for Dick and his beloved poodle Princess will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Friday, June 24, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton, with military rites conducted by the George G. Luckey American Legion Post #57 and the Patriot Guard Riders.

Daryl Dean Daker, 90, died peacefully on June 18, 2022 at The Views in Marion.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall with Rev. Esther C. “Smith” Little, age 99, passed away on Wednesday June 15, 2022, at Unity Point Hospital in Marshalltown. Thomas D. Schumacher, 78, died peacefully on June 15, 2022 at Country House Residence after a long illness with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s disease.Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20, at 10:30 am at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids with Pastor Rich Balvanz officiating.
