Barbara Ann Hart

Barbara Ann Hart, 62, of Cedar Rapids, took leave of this Earth on Thursday, September 1, 2022 while at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She unexpectedly collapsed into the arms of her family on August 30, while recovering from surgery. Despite the great efforts made to save her, it was at this time she joined her parents in Heaven.Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Tom; her children, Megan (Manuel) Hart-Fernandez of Cedar Rapids, Molly (Dan) Cord of Salt Lake City, Utah and Rob (Amy) of Iowa City; her brothers and sisters, Garry (Kathy) Wilhelmi, Kathy (Sam) Dronebarger, David (Rhonda) Wilhelmi, Patti (Dean) Evans and Linda Wear; grandchildren, Stella, Theo, Sofia, Landon and Scarlett; family friend, Pat Wilson; as well as many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mia Ann Wyant

Mia Ann Wyant the infant daughter of Breanna Lynn Robertson and Jordan David Wyant was born August 21, 2022 at the Helen G. Nassif Center, Cedar Rapids, IA, after a brief stay, she passed away September 6, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.Mia is survived by her parents, and many more loving family and friends.She was preceded in death and welcomed home by her great-grandfather, Dennis Kithcart Sr.

Sister Mary Ann Becker

Sister Mary Ann Becker, RSM, 96, died on Sept. 4, 2022, at Hallmar Care Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, after a brief illness. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at the Sacred Heart Chapel, by the Rev. Greg Bahl. Burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, at the Sacred Heart Chapel, with a wake service at 6:30 p.

George B. Aldrich

George B. Aldrich, 88, of Brandon, Iowa, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2022, at the University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.George was born on Aug. 23, 1934, in Tama, Iowa the son of Bernard and Bernadette (Powell) Aldrich. He was a 1952 graduate of the Brandon High School in Brandon, Iowa. He enlisted in the United States Air Force serving until his discharge in 1957.

Nancy Rae McBurney

Nancy Rae McBurney, 70, of Bertram, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Campbell Cemetery in Bertram, Iowa.

Richard Lee Silhanek

Richard Lee Silhanek, 87, of Keystone, Iowa, passed away September 2, 2022, at the Keystone Care Center.  He was surrounded by loving family and compassionate caregivers during the days leading up to and at the time of his passing.Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Keystone, on Friday, September 16 at 10:30 am officiated by the Reverend Andy Wright.

Sally Ann Benson-Hackett

Sally Ann Benson-Hackett, age 62, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton with Rev. Phil Borleske officiating.  Interment will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in Vinton.

Ruth Leona Dunkel

Ruth Leona Dunkel, formerly of Alburnett, Iowa, passed away peacefully at age 94 on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at her home in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, where she lived for the past 12 years. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Monday, September 5, 2022, at Murdoch Funeral Home, Center Point, Iowa. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at the funeral home.

Arlene Cook, 91, died at her home Thursday, September 1, 2022.Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the funeral home.
