Edna Dedrick

Edna Dedrick, 71, passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. Per Edna’s request, there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.Edna was born December 20, 1951 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Willard and Patricia (Reilly) Kies. She attended school in Cedar Rapids. On October 3, 1970, Edna was united in marriage to Theodore (Ted) Dedrick in Cedar Rapids.

Elsie Jane Petersen

Elsie Jane Petersen passed away at home with her husband, Dr. Horace (Pete) Petersen and family present on Saturday, April 15th. Jane was 90 years (young)! She is also survived by her children Brent, Julie, David, Scott, Barry, and 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.Jane started her life in the small town of Atkins, Iowa where her father and mother, Chester and Mabel Hagan, operated a farm.

Natica Renelle Dornan

Natica Renelle Dornan, 51 of Greenville, North Carolina, passed away at her home on April 20, 2023. Tica, as she was known, was born on December 6, 1971. Tica lived in Vinton, Iowa during most of the 1970s before moving to Virginia Beach, VA.She is survived by her three daughters, Kaile Solari, Mackenzie Solari and Peyton Orlopp; father, Jack Dornan and mother Teresa (Lynch) Phillips; her sister, Casey (Jimmy) Six and their daughter Charlotte; her uncles, Thomas (Cindy) Lynch of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Steven (Pam) Lynch of Cascade, Iowa; grandmother, Sheila Lynch of Garrison, Iowa; and several cousins.

Michael Raymond Less

Husband.  Father.  Survivor.  Hero. Friend.Michael Raymond Less, 77, of Atkins, died Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at home following a courageous battle with cancer.  Services: 11 a.m., Thursday, April 27, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church, Newhall by Rev. Steven Rempher. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.

Linda (Kester) Eastin

 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda (Kester) Eastin, who left us peacefully on April 17, 2023, at age 66, to be reunited in Heaven with her son, Matthew, who passed away at just nine months old in 1978. Linda was born on October 19,1956, to Glenn and Jane (Neiderhiser­­) Kester and was raised on the family farm outside of Urbana, Iowa, where she graduated from Urbana High School in 1975.

Irene Mae (Tumilty) White

Irene Mae (Tumilty) White, 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 16, 2023 in the loving hands of the nurses at the Hiawatha Care Center, surrounded by her family.Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM, until 10:45 AM, Friday, April 21, 2023,  at the First Christian Church in Vinton.   Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday also at the church.

Ida Marie Kosnar

Ida Marie Kosnar, 106, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Sunrise Hill Care & Rehab Center in Traer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2023 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Traer with Father Anthony Nketiah as Celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church from 2:00 p.m. until time of service.

Dorothy J. Thiele

Dorothy J. Thiele, 86, of La Porte City, died Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at La Porte City Specialty Care in La Porte City.She was born January 11, 1937, in Waterloo, daughter of Harold O. and Lilliane D. Maynard Thiele. Dorothy graduated from La Porte City High School in 1955. She married Thomas Gill in 1956; they later divorced. She married Thomas Wharf in 1975, in Brooklyn, MA, they later divorced.

Susan “Sue” Kay Crawford

Susan “Sue” Kay Crawford was born on July 24, 1954, in Waterloo, the daughter of Robert and Marjorie (Kopriva) Kriz. Sue attended Dysart-Geneseo High School and graduated in 1972. While in high school, she was very active in many sports. On October 27, 1973, Sue was united in marriage to Rick Crawford. The couple made their home in Dysart where they raised their family.

Erik Studer

The Studer and Stodola families sorrowfully announce the passing of their son, fiancé, brother, and uncle, Erik Studer. Erik, 26, died on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 following a pulmonary embolism. A Celebration of Erik's life will be held on Saturday, April 15, at the Wildcat Country Club, located at 100 Wildcat Trail, Shellsburg, Iowa.
