The eighth week of this year’s session is known as “funnel week” in the legislature. This week is the first legislative deadline of the year. All Senate policy bills must have passed through committee in order to be considered for the rest of the year. With all the talk of what this week is like from previous years, I was anticipating a very chaotic week, but oddly enough, it was very slow.

February 24, 2021The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in special session at the Benton County Service Center Conference Room. Supervisor Seeman called the meeting to order at 5:00 P.M. Supervisors Primmer and Bierschenk were also present. February 22, 2021The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in special session at the old Dog Pound county owned building. Supervisor Seeman called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M. Supervisors Primmer and Bierschenk were also present. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously.The purpose of the meeting was to have a combined session with the Conservation Board Members and the Supervisors to allow the public to bring their concerns regarding a recent opportunity.

Following the resignation of 4 of the Vinton Library Board member, applications are being taken to fill these positions.Anyone that is at least 18 years old may apply.
