Benton County, Start Making Some Noise
This past week, President Trump approved the request by Governor Reynolds for funding under the FEMA Individual Assistance Program for...Linn County. Currently, the other counties are still being considered.If anything, I've found that one squeaking wheel gets all the grease in government. Sure Cedar Rapids had monumental damage, but so did Benton County.

Q: What resources will the President’s Major Disaster Declaration open up for Iowans? A: On August 10, 2020, an unprecedented derecho ravaged communities in more than one-third of Iowa counties from the Missouri to Mississippi Rivers. Hurricane-force winds roared through Iowa’s entire mid-section in less than an hour, flattening corn fields, ripping apart grain bins, damaging thousands of homes and splintering countless trees within a 40 to 60-mile wing span.
Reynolds extends Public Health Emergency Declaration for another 30 days
Today, Gov. Reynolds signed a new proclamation continuing the Public Health Disaster Emergency for another 30 days. The proclamation extends public health mitigation measures currently in place for businesses and other establishments. This includes the requirements for bars and restaurants to ensure six feet of physical distance between each group or individual dining or drinking; to ensure all patrons have a seat at a table or bar; and to limit congregating together closer than six feet.

We are fielding a lot of questions about the absentee ballot process. Here is a summary of that process for the November 3 General Election:Absentee ballot request forms are being mailed by a number of organizations. These are all legitimate request forms, and you only need to send one of them to us. We will send only one ballot per voter, regardless of how many request forms may have been inadvertently sent to us.
